Touched By Darkness

When darkness caresses my face
The light at my back fades away
Cradled by the vastness of space
In the coffin of my mind I lay

Out of fear I deny loves touch
From fallen tears I build the wall
I am helpless without a crutch
Desperate terror as I fall

There is nothing beneath my feet
To help raise me above the pain
I'm frozen solid by the sleet
Which is the crown in my domain

Hope departs as I understand
What I killed was more than a word
Now I walk in this desolate land
The screams in my head unheard
